I had purchased a barreled receiver that had a receiver sight mounted to it. Bruce did a great job of turning down the muzzle to be able to mount a bayonet and installing the new front sight parts. Had it sent to my gunsmith, Bruce Dow of Dow Arms Room, in Dade City, Fl along with new front sight parts.

Thought would be a great to make a "School Rifle" out of. Barrel was cut to 23"-24" and stock cut to match. After that, ended up with three different Krag projects.all short rifles.įound a cut down 1898 on Gun Broker. I purchased my 1st Krag long rifle, at the Tulsa arms show, in 2018. It wont be cheap but I have room to work. I picked up a nice action off the marketplace that deserves a nice stock. The least expensive route is to find a damaged or cut down stock then splice in the repair section, to make it full length. I think that anyway that you go, coming up wit an original or even repro full stock, is going to be pricey, unless you get lucky. (You may need to get a good carbine stock and splice in a fore end repair section)
